After becoming the most famous European dealer since their victory on the 41st Rinyukai Show, they were present again this year. You might now about who I am talking about: Danny and Mie from Danny’s Koi Café from Belgium! Last year D.K.C. (as their name is probably to long, you always see D.K.C. in the show results in magazines) took Grand Champion on this Rinyukai with the Yondan Nogami Kohaku, named Pandora. Later she became Supreme Champion on this year’s All Japan Koi Show and also won the Asia Cup. This time they were back to see how their customer’s Koi are performing on the show. For me, a Kohaku owned by the Dutch hobbyist Harry Van Der Hout, was the biggest rough diamond on the show!
Again a Yondan (four step) Kohaku, but this time from Sakai Fish Farm. She now measures 87 centimeter and listens to the name Vertigo. On the 42nd edition of the Rinyukai, she won the award for best Kohaku. Having a Kohaku as Grand and Supreme Champion on this show, this basically means she was the best Kohaku after these two Koi. I can imagine why the Koi did not contended for the Grand Champion titel, as her skin is still ‘creamy’ looking. But I am quite confident that her skin will become whiter and whiter every year from now on. Besides, Danny and Mie told me that this Kohaku belongs to the five best Kohaku at Sakai Fish Farm at the moment, so that promises something for future!
