When wondering through the Niigata, it doens’t quite matter which Koihouse you enter. Around every corner you can find Koi that make you even more enthusiastic. Sometimes however, you even find Koi to die for. A Koi that you know for sure is going to be yours! It happened to teh guys of Himitsu Pond and Garden from the Netherlands when they took a look while in search for a Hajiro…
Were you specifically looking for a Koi like this?
We were actually looking for a Hajiro for one of our customers. Since this variety id of lesser value to the breeders, it’s difficult to find one inn the bigger sizes. Because Hosokai ususly has some less conventional varieties swimming around, we agreed to give it a try at his place.
What was your first impression when you saw the Koi?
It wasn’t the fish my customer was looking for, but this oppertunity I could no go let past. I bought her immediately, without any hassitating. These kind of rare fishes and of this quality are hard to find. She ‘s a female, two years old and about 45cm. Unfortunately, I didn’t ask for the parent Koi. It’s not the first time Hosokai has got these kind of different fish, so I don’t know whether he breeds them specifically or they are just lucky offspring
She probably will be attend the second European Shinkokai Koi Show in the Netherlands. Himitsu Garden loves to bring something special to a Koi Show. Last year, they entered a 106cm Magoi into the Holland Koi Show. They just take great gratitude in showing people the many beautiful faces nishikigoi has to offer.
