The 43rd All Japan Show will be held on 4 and 5 February
Next weekend (4 and 5 February) it will take place again, the All Japan Combined Nishikigoi Show! This show, also called All Japan Show, is the event where it is all about in the Koi scene. This year the 43th edition will take place and I will be there again, just like last year!
Dainichi does it again!
She was one of my favorite Koi on the previous edition of the All Japan Combined Nishikigoi Show, and this year again! She did it! Again a Dainichi Showa that wins the Grand Champion title with a length below 85 centimeter! She was able to remain her beautiful skin, but grew five centimeter in the last year under the supervision of Narita Koi Farms!
Best in Variety Ginrin A
With an astonishing Ginrin Kohaku; measuring 91cm, which is an extraordinairy length when it comes to Ginrin varieties, a Dutch Koi dealer from Tiel brings home the Gold! The Momotaro Kohaku won the best in Variety award at the All Japan combined Nishikigoi Show 2012 in Tokyo, meaning it’s the best koi of his kind. Bram Rohaan managed to take a beautiful picture of this champion…
The All Japan Combined Nishikigoi Show 2012 has many winners in different categories and sizes. Even the least beautifull ones are still amazing. That’s how high the quality of the Koi at this Koi Show in Tokyo are. I’ts the most important KOI show on the face of the earth. Winning here means eternal fame, a special seat at the table, a figurehead for the hobby of keeping nishikigoi. Below you’ll find a photograhic overview of the most beautiful Koi of this time…
The head of a giant!
Now that the winners are announced, I wanna show you a little bit more about the Supreme Champion. The actual name given on the show is Jumbo Champion, but I think this is more suitable to the real Jumbo Koi (a Doitsu Karashigoi of 112 centimeter). Another interesting thing: the ballot for Grand Champion took only one round, with 53 votes for the Dainichi Showa and 30 for this Sakai Kohaku, resulting in a Supreme Champion award for this giant. Koi San Europe is one of the Best in Variety winners!
Although the Major Awards are online since yesterday, there are a lot (a lot!) more major awards to be published! You should that since this year there are two more categories and also an extra variety to the Best in Variety is added. In total there are 107 major awards this year! In this blog, you can see the Best in Varieties (20 different variety classes). Read More
Honor; that’s were it’s all about at the All Japan Combined Nishikigoi Show. A ceremony with a lot of glitter and glamour, official moments and speeches. One of those speeches came from the winner Jitsuo Takagi who told he picked the Showa himself as a nisai during a visit to the Dainichi Koi farm… Read More
One of my favorite Kokugyo's of 2012
Unfortunately the All Japan Show is at it’s end now. In my opinion again a very impressive show. Although the amount of big Go-Sanke (85+) was less than last year, it does not say anything about the overal top quality of the entered show. A large amount of fish that did not win a Major Award (the ones which will published on this website) are really good Koi which you might see in the future, winning one. In this blog an overview of the Kokugyo (Best in size Go-Sanke) awards. Read More
Maybe you already saw it in the Best in variety post here at KoiQuestion; the best of his kind at the All Japan was a Tancho Showa owned by mr.DKC from Koi San Europe. This Tancho is the captain in the winning team of the Belgian dealer as they managed to win a total of 17 prizes together with their customers… Read More
Kokugyo Male power!
As promised, I will now show you the Kokugyo male fish! Male Koi are getting more and more impressive year by year. Male growing over 100 centimeter is not rare at all anymore. The results on this show for sure prove that males can be long, wide and beautiful! Read More
