KLAN annually organizes the Interkoi

Spring has only just begun and one after another Koi event is held. Our fish in unheated outdoor ponds are just starting to loose around and swim their rounds; they soon may be making a trip to Germany. Because it’s almost time for the first koishow of the year in Europe. On the 2nd and 3rd of April the Interkoi will take place. The Koi Liebhaber am Niederrhein (KLAN) organizes this awesome show back in the familiar hall in Rheinsberg. Together with the Holland Koi Show, which is annually organized by the Netherlands Nishikigoi Association (NVN) in August, these two exhibitions are the place to be for all Koi lovers in Europe. Best in Varieties of the Interkoi 2011

This entry is part 4 of 5 in the series Interkoi Show Rheinberg 2011

Best in Variety

As I promised in an earlier blog, I had promised that I would show you the Best in Varieties of Interkoi 2011. The Koi were exhibited in a total of eighteen different varieties. Strikingly, the Best in Variety for Ginrin A was won by a Ginrin Shiro Utsuri. Normally, only Go-Sanke (Kohaku, Sanke, Showa) are eligible for this award. Probably this choice was made so other varieties have more chance in the Best in Variety for Koi classified into the Ginrin B-class. In addition, this show turned out to be very well for some of our sponsors. Of the eighteen Best in Variety, a total of six awards, so one third (!) went to Danny’s Cafe Koi, Kim’s Koi and Kim’s and Papegaaien en Koicentrum van Keulen. Read More

GC Interkoi 2011 - owned by André Verpoucke

It’s been a while already, but I found out that we did not published a video of the Grand Champion yet. To make this right, you can find several videos of the number one of the Interkoi 2011 in this blog. You could already see her on the right, this graceful Sanke owned by André Verpoucke. She’s just gosai (in its fifth year of life) and measures 85 centimeters. Sunshine is her name, she certainly more than suits it! I want to congratulate the winners again: André and his wife Conny did it again, a third Grand Champion on a European Koi Show in one year!
