Sometimes it really looks like it is always sunny during Summer time in Japan. Well, until last week, I would agree with that thinking for the year 2011. At the beginning of this month, it started to rain. And the rain just kept coming and coming for at least two-and-a-half day. Heavy showers were alternated with little rainfall and kept falling non-stop. When we have rain like this in the Netherlands, there would hardly be any problem. But here in Niigata it looks like everything is made of clay, and the combination with steep mountain slopes, heavy trees and a lot of water does not match, I have noticed this period…
